"Who's Gene Pool?"

I was sitting at the bar drinking some hot cocoa in our Casablanca mug with the picture of Bogie and Bergman sitting at a table in a cafe with the caption: "Here's looking at you, kid."

I realized tonight how slow I am. It took me a really long time to understand this post. Now that I get it... very funny! :)

"HERE" is the French-Belgian transliteration of "Harry". And Harry, (as everyone knows) is that irritable old retired guy who sits in his front porch rocking-chair and watches the kids play in the neighborhood. In the 1930's the expression "HERE's looking at you, kid!" was meant to frighten little children and keep them off the grass in the neigbors yards.
